National Alliance on Mental Illness
NAMI is America’s largest grassroots mental health organization. NAMI provides support groups, educational workshops, and advocacy efforts at the local, state, and national levels.
Mental Health America
MHA is the oldest peer- person with a mental illness- founded mental health organization in America. MHA focuses on protecting the rights and dignity of persons with lived experience.
Greater Good Science Center
Greater Good is a web-based magazine out of UC Berkeley- Go Bears!- that brings together psychology, sociology, and neuroscience focusing on wellbeing. They make science palatable for the every day Joe.
TED Talks
Who doesn’t love a TED Talk? I use TED videos in my therapy sessions, in lectures, with my family and friends. Absolutely love a good TED talk. Talks span every topic imaginable and can fit in to any schedule- all videos are under 20 minutes.
Number Story
Number Story helps people learn about ACEs- Adverse Childhood Experiences- and the link between childhood stress and trauma and physical and mental health conditions. ACEs are big focus of research and discussion in the US.
Brené Brown
Queen Brené. This woman simultaneously ruined and revamped my life. Brené has spent her career studying and writing about courage, shame, vulnerability, and empathy. She is my kind of weird and she wants the world to be a kinder place.
